Last week I went to the London showcase for one of my favorite pop bands, The Veronicas. You might have heard of them already – the sister duo were part of the Max Martin/Since U Been Gone-style guitar pop wave of 2006, and had videos full of skateboarding teens and red bracelets and general teen [...]

Happy Holi – and some winners
Posted in Uncategorized on March 18, 2009 | 2 Comments »
Sunday marked Holi – the Festival of Colors to mark the start of Spring, and I was lucky enough to head up to Queens with some friends to watch the parade and celebrate. This involved getting kind of messy!
There were floats and marchers and very loud music. And then came the powder…
First, the pale base…
Then [...]

As well as the fun Jefferson NYPL reading I did on launch day, I also went out to Brooklyn on Friday for some library visits. I’ve never really done much public speaking, so it was pretty nerve-wracking to start, but everyone was so friendly and welcoming, it was a really great day.

Bookstore Fail!

Susan at Readspace posted a great review, saying “Like the best chick lit, [...]

I’m eating Ben & Jerry’s Peach Cobbler straight from the tub, and I fear it can only end one way: with an empty carton and a full stomach. Somebody, stop me please!
In other news, I’m excited about the new season of American Idol. Will there be a contestant who annoys me as much as David [...]
Book stalking, and (competition closed!)

I heard that the book was in stores early, so today my friend and I went BOOK STALKING! We headed to the Columbus Circle Borders, and lo! There, in the glittering center of the city–the world, if you will–was my baby:
And thus commenced the posing…
… and the signing…
… and the general hugging/leaping around in glee. [...]
